What is homeopathy?

Until a few years ago I was relatively unfamiliar with what homeopathy is. As I have become slightly more familiar with homeopathy, I have started to use it as a way to heal and cure my children. I am not one to push the use of "drugs" or "antibiotics" with myself or my children and have found homeopathy to be a wonderful and effective alternative to conventional medicine. Here is a quick and simple explanation as to what homeopathy is.

What is homeopathy?

Homeopathy is an alternative form of medicine that originated from the written works of Samual Hahneman.

How does homeopathy work?

Homeopathy is based on the idea of "like cures like." What this means is that a substance that would cause symptoms of a certain disease in a healthy person would in return work as a cure for a person suffering of said disease.

How are homeopathic remedies made?

Homeopathic remedies are made by diluting the "substance" in alcohol or water. The dilution process of the substance happens over and over again until there is virtually nothing left of the original substance. It is believed that the water has a memory.

Where can homeopathic remedies be bought?
Some suggestions of places to look are:
Sprouts ( they are cheaper than Whole Foods)
Whole Foods ( they have a large selection and their employees are very helpful and knowledgeable. I would definitely suggest them as a place for first time buyers)

Because homeopathic remedies are so diluted most remedies are not believed to be harmful. Please be wise when using homeopathic remedies and go to the doctor if symptoms persist. There are times when conventional medical care is necessary.
